Dr. Bill Gurel, DDS, is a native Calgarian and decided to stay close to home for his undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, which he completed at the University of Calgary. He traveled farther afield to the University of Alberta in Edmonton for his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Once his degree was awarded, Dr. Gurel took it upon himself to transfer to the University of Alberta Hospital and complete a General Practice Residency. He frequently served as a Clinical Supervisor to senior dental and hygiene students in clinics throughout Northern Alberta. Dr. Gurel has been providing compassionate care to the Cochrane community for over 20 years through his private clinic, Bow River Dental Centre.
